40k Space Marines: Assault Intercessors

If you’re looking for a melee unit for your Space Marines, the Assault Intercessors are a very practical starting point. The set contains ten multi-part plastic miniatures, giving you a solid foundation for Warhammer 40.000. Players who want to make their army more mobile and aggressive often choose a unit like this. The set is also interesting for Collectors, as it showcases the classic Space Marine look in an active squad.

Many buyers looking for Space Marines first seek a unit that slots easily into an army while still being tactically useful. That’s exactly what the Assault Intercessors offer, with their clear role in melee combat. Compared with more specialized models, they remain pleasantly accessible without feeling boring. For a Warhammer 40,000 project, they’re often the more sensible choice than a set designed for just one very specific purpose. This makes it easy to keep developing the army flexibly.

The Assault Intercessors unit is appealing to Collectors because it presents Space Marines in a modern, dynamic form. If you organize your Collection by squad type, you often need units like these to complete a faction lineup. The ten models give you plenty to work with without making the project feel overwhelming. In a Space Marines Collection, a set like this often feels like an important building block rather than just an extra purchase.

On the battlefield, Assault Intercessors are especially useful when you want to give your army a melee presence. They’re a good fit for players who want to use Space Marines not just defensively, but also actively bring them into the thick of the action. This makes the set a good choice for Warhammer 40.000 battles where you’re looking for a reliable unit focused on direct engagement. With ten models, you can easily add the squad to an existing army list.

The Assault Intercessors work both as an addition and as a starting point. If you’re just getting started with Space Marines, you get a straightforward unit that’s easy to paint and get onto the tabletop. If your army is already established, this set meaningfully adds a different role to your existing models. That versatility is exactly what makes the kit so appealing to many Warhammer fans. It’s not too specialized, but it has a clear role.

The set contains ten multipart Assault Intercessor miniatures and ten 32 mm bases. The models are supplied unpainted and unassembled, so you can build them in your own style. This is convenient for hobbyists, as you can assemble the unit step by step and later add it to your Space Marines army. This makes for a typical Warhammer project that works both during assembly and on the tabletop.

Compared to classic Tactical Squads, Assault Intercessors seem more mobile and more focused on close combat. If you’re looking for a flexible fire base, another squad may be a better fit. But if you want a unit that actively pushes forward in your Warhammer 40.000 army, Assault Intercessors are often the more obvious choice. This difference is especially important for Space Marine Players, as it directly affects your playstyle.

Assault Intercessors are a good fit for players looking to build up their Space Marines with close-combat strength, and for collectors seeking classic faction models. Beginners also benefit from having a clearly understandable squad set for their first or next project. Anyone who wants to play Warhammer 40,000, not just collect it, gets a solid foundation here. The set is straightforward enough for beginners and useful enough for experienced armies.
